END OF TERM UPDATE N0. 81
On behalf of the Board, Staff and Students of the school, we congratulate you for the successful completion of another academic session. We appreciate you for your support and immense contributions to the growth and development of the school. We pray that the Lord will grant you peace and safety in your comings and goings during the summer holidays. Amen.
CAMBRIDGE CHECKPOINT RESULTS
The school recorded excellent results this year as students scored 100% credit to distinction in English Language and Science while 97% credit to distinction was recorded in Mathematics. We commend the efforts of the students and teachers for these results.
The next entrance examination comes up on Saturday, 24th August 2019. However, we can organise examinations for those who may not be available on this date. Please give us a call on 08037054147 to schedule examinations.
Forty-four students sat for the examinations. The results are as follows:
240 – 308 – 21 students
220 – 239 – 14 students
200 – 219 – 7 students
182 -199 – 2 students
We commend the efforts of the students and their teachers for this great achievement.
EDALAF BROTHERS SCIENCE COMPETITION
The competition was an online competition that took place nationwide. Obaloluwa Oyedeji who represented the school came third in the nationwide competition. He was awarded N750,000 university scholarship. We commend the efforts of the student and we are gearing up for the next edition.
REPLENISHING OF FOOD ITEMS
We have observed that the rules guiding the provision of food items are not followed as they were sent. The list of items to provide upon resumption at the beginning and after mid-term break is as follows
Cereal – 2packs
Milk – two 450g cans
Beverage (Milo, Bounrvita etc) – two 450g cans
Sugar – 1 packet
Strict adherence to the list and the times to provide the items is expected. Other items outside the list will be seized.
YEAR 12 EXTENSION CLASSES
The Year 12 students are expected to return to school for extension classes to put finishing touches to the various forthcoming examinations on Tuesday 13th August 2019. The classes are COMPULSORY for all Year 12 students. Registration for GCE is strictly prohibited by the school. JAMB, SAT, IELTS classes will also continue during the period. We seek your cooperation to take advantage of the quietness during this period to achieve more.
We have enclosed assignments to last at least four weeks of the holidays for students in Basic 8, 9,
and 11. The Year 12 students have also been given assignments which they must finish and submit when they return to school from 13th August, 2019. We expect weekly feedbacks from students at the end of every week.
LIST OF ESSENTIALS
We observed that students no longer bring the complete items needed for boarding school. We have attached a newly compiled list of essentials for boarding students. The items will be checked and tagged upon resumption in August for Year 12 students and the Basic 8 – Year 11 students in September.
TOOLS AND COMPONENTS FOR ELECTRONICS STUDENTS (YEAR 10 – 12)
There is the option to pay N7,000 into the school’s UBA account no 1010774631.
CODING/ROBOTICS FOR ALL STUDENTS
The students have shown great interest in this programme. The fee is N25,000 to purchase Coding/Robotics kits for the students. Payment should be made into the school’s UBA account No. 1010774631.
All chess players are expected to resume to school with their individual chess boards. This information applies to both the junior and senior chess players.
EXCURSION TO NATIONAL ASSEMBLY ABUJA
The year 11 students will be going on an excursion to the National Assembly Abuja from 7th – 11th October 2019. The cost of the programme is N120,000.00 per student. This cost includes flight, accommodation, feeding, transportation within the FCT. The deadline for payment is 14th September to ensure that we purchase cheap tickets and for proper planning. INSTALLATION OF OFFICE 365 (2016)
The students who will be taking IGCS Examinations are expected to install the office 365 (2016) on their laptops to aid their preparation for the examinations. In order to save cost, you are expected to pay N8,000 only for the purchase of the 5- user original version of the software. Please pay into the school’s UBA account N0. 1010774631.
DEMISE OF MR. BALOGUN
It is with sadness but with submission to the will of God that we bring the news of the passing on of Mr. Balogun. He was the Treasurer of the Parents Teachers Association. He died after a brief illness at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital. We take consolation in the fact that he lived a wonderful life and was very supportive of all school activities. He will be greatly missed. We will continue to keep you abreast of details of the funeral arrangements as we consult with the family. May his soul rest in perfect peace with the Lord. Amen.
